BACHELOR STUDIES

 

Academy of Arts is an institution of higher education, art and science which implements first study cycle – Bachelor academic studies; second study cycle – Master academic studies, Specialist studies and third study cycle – Doctoral academic studies in the field of music, fine arts and dramatic arts, as well as social sciences and humanities. The studies are in accordance with the rules of studying based on European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
Bachelor academic studies correspond to 240 ECTS credits – the period of four years or eight semesters of studying, as determined by the study program.
Passing the entrance exam is a prerequisite to the admission at the first year of Bachelor studies. The ranking of candidates who pass the entrance exam is based on the results from the entrance exam and the success achieved in previous education.

 

DEPARTMENT OF DRAMATIC ARTS

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Eligibility criteria for the entrance exam:

Study program: Acting in Serbian
• Candidates who have completed secondary education (four or three years of study) for all professions and vocations.
Study program: Multimedia Directing
• Candidates who have completed secondary education (four years of study) for all professions and vocations.
Study programs: Production, Editing, Camera, Lighting Design, Sound Recording and Design, Animation and Visual Effects and Music Production
• Candidates who have completed secondary education (four years of study) for all professions and vocations.

DOCUMENTATION

Applications are submitted in the Student Office of the Academy of Arts.
The following documents are required:

– Application form (obtained at the doorman’s office at the Academy of Arts)
– Secondary school diploma (a certified copy + sworn translation in Serbian)
– Certificates of all four years of high school (certified copies + sworn translation in Serbian)
– Copy of the birth certificate (+sworn translation in Serbian)
– Certificate of citizenship (+sworn translation in Serbian)
– Biography (in Serbian)
– Copy of the ID card / passport
– Three photos
– Works (for study programs Multimedia Directing, Production, Editing, Camera, Light Design, Sound Recording and Design, Animation and Visual Effects and Music Production)
– Proof of payment for entrance exam fee

 

Additional documentation for foreign students:

– Certificate of Recognition of foreign secondary school diploma(s)
– Health insurance
– Proof of knowledge of Serbian language

DEPARTMENT OF FINE ARTS

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Eligibility criteria for the entrance exam:

• Candidates with corresponding secondary education (four years of study) in the field of fine arts and education, including grammar schools or all other higher vocational schools which in their curriculum offer the subject History of Arts or Fine Arts Culture (in a duration of two school years).
• Candidates with non-corresponding secondary education (four years of study), who passed differential exams for the subject Fine Arts Culture from the grammar school curriculum – study program social sciences and humanities.

Applications are submitted in the Student Office of the Academy of Arts.
The following documents are required:

– Application form (obtained at the doorman’s office at the Academy of Arts)
– Secondary school diploma (a certified copy + sworn translation in Serbian)
– Certificates of all four years of high school (certified copies + sworn translation in Serbian)
– Copy of the birth certificate (+ sworn translation in Serbian)
– Certificate of citizenship (+ sworn translation in Serbian)
– Biography (in Serbian)
– Copy of the ID card / passport
– Proof of payment for the entrance exam fee

 

Additional documentation for foreign students:

– Certificate of Recognition of foreign secondary school diploma(s)
– Health insurance
– Proof of knowledge of Serbian language

Applications are submitted in the Student Office at the Academy of Arts.

NOTES

Candidates are required to show their ID card for identification during the exam.
Candidates who do not pass the entrance exam are required to collect their work within 5 days after announcing the results of the competition.
Copies of documents are not returned.

In order to test the aptitudes and abilities of students for studying at the Department of Fine Arts, candidates also take the preliminary exam (for study programs: New Art Media, Photography and Graphic Communications) or professional exam in art discipline of DRAWING (for study programs: Painting, Graphic Art, Sculpture) and submit their ART PORTFOLIO in format 100×70 cm.
The content of the PORTFOLIO varies in study programs as follows:
 
• Study program PAINTING:
5 drawings of portraits – natural size (100×70)
5 drawings of figures (nude or figures in clothes) – (100×70)
5 small drawings (pencil, ink, pastel, mixed technique)
5 paintings of still life or portrait (dimensions optional – up to 100×70)
5 boards of small paintings (100×70)

• Study program GRAPHIC ART:
5 drawings of portraits – natural size (100×70)
5 drawings of figures (nude or in clothes) – (100×70)
5 boards of small drawings (pencil, ink, pastel, mixed technique)
10 boards (100X70) with small preparatory drawings for graphic techniques (linocut, etching, aquatint)

• Study program SCULPTURE:
5 drawings of portraits – natural size (100×70)
5 drawings of figures (nude or in clothes) – (100×70)
5 boards of small drawings (pencil, ink, pastel, mixed technique) – free choice theme
3-5 sculptures; three portraits (required)
(material: plaster or optional)

• Study program GRAPHIC COMMUNICATIONS:
3 drawings of portrait in natural size (100×70)
4 drawings of figures (nude or with clothes)
3 boards of small drawings (pencil, ink, pastel, mixed technique)
10 boards (100×70) of works from all fields of graphic design: poster, utilitarian graphics, book design, letters and typography

• Study program NEW VISUAL MEDIA
3 drawings of portrait in natural size (100×70)
3 drawings of figures (nude or with clothes)
3 boards of small drawings (pencil, ink, pastel, mixed technique)
up to 5 boards of artwork (100×70) optional: collage, photography, projects for installations, ambiences and performances
Selection of up to 5 video works (DVD), computer graphics GIF, TIF, BMP, JPG, AI, CDR and EPS; computer animation SWF, GIF, AVI, MOV, HTM, EXE and WEB sites

• Study program PHOTOGRAPHY
3 drawings of portrait in natural size (100×70)
3 drawings of figure (nude or with clothes)
3 boards of small drawings (pencil, ink, pastel, mixed technique)
up to 20 photos (format size from 18 – 24 up to 20 – 30)

DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Eligibility criteria for the entrance exam are:

• Candidates with corresponding secondary education in music (study program for music performers or music cooperates)
• Candidates with corresponding secondary education in music but from non-corresponding department take the instrument test (candidates for study programs Instruments) and solo singing test (candidates for study program Solo Singing).
• Candidates with non-corresponding secondary education who passed differential exams determined by the secondary music school curriculum in the following subjects: Solfège, Theory of Music, Harmony, Counterpoint, Music forms, Music Instruments, Comparative Piano (candidates for study program Musicology, study program Ethnomusicology, study program Music Pedagogy, study program Composition and study program Solo Singing), Folklore Music (candidates for study program Ethnomusicology), History of Music (candidates for study program Musicology), instrument (candidates for study programs for Instruments) and Solo Singing (candidates for study program Solo Singing).
• Notwithstanding the entrance exam at the Department of Music, study program Piano, study program Harp, study program Guitar, study program String Instruments, study program Wind Instruments and Percussions and study program Solo Singing – the candidates with non-corresponding secondary education, or with completed primary education with the duration of eight years can also take the entrance exam, on condition that they pass the additional exams in the following subjects: Serbian language, Literature, Art, History and Psychology determined by the curricula of grammar schools – general study program. The examination is in the form of a test. A candidate with more than 50% correct answers is entitled to take differential exams determined by the secondary music school curriculum in the following subjects: Instrument – Solo Singing, Solfège, Theory of Music, Harmony, Counterpoint, Music Forms and Music Instruments.
